Sunovion Solidifies Partnership With Sharp
During the Interphex show on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 Carl Accettura awarded Jeff Benedict (VP Global Business Development) and Jennifer Shaw (Commercial Account Executive) a “Supplier Partnership Recognition” plaque. This presentation was in recognition of the outstanding service Sharp has delivered for their Latuda launches. Sharp continues to look forward to working with Sunovion on their future product launches.
Intermezzo Featured in ABC World News & Good Morning America
On Wednesday, April 4, 2012, Intermezzo was featured in the nightly ABC World News with Diane Sawyer and the following day was discussed on the Good Morning America show. From ABC News website … “Purdue Pharma, the company behind Intermezzo, said the new pill could be taken by those who wake up mid-sleep and may have only four hours or so left to doze. This makes it the only Food and Drug Administration approved drug for middle-of-the night insomniacs. Intermezzo contains zolpidem tartrate, the same active ingredient in the popular prescription sleep aid Ambien, but at a lower dose. It is also taken in a different way. Whereas Ambien is swallowed, Intermezzo is left to dissolve under the tongue, so it works more quickly.”

Otsuka Forges Partnership With Sharp Corporation
On Monday, December 5, 2011, Otsuka’s senior management met with Sharp Corporation’s management as an indication of solidifying Sharp’s future partnership with Otsuka. As this was the first visit to Sharp for most of Otsuka’s management, the visit afforded them the opportunity to gain an appreciation of who Sharp is … its facility and more importantly its mission as a customer-focused contract packager. In addition, the meeting gave both parties the opportunity to discuss Otsuka’s current projects and future “pipeline” projects. The highlight of the day was the presentation of a gift to Sharp. As a gesture of goodwill, Kunio Kawamura, Ph.D. of Otsuka presented Dave Luken of Sharp with a gift as shown in the photo. The gift is a hand carved bamboo representation of the Dance Festival for harvesting sugar crops.
Cephalon Presents Sharp Supplier Excellence Award
- Cephalon management visited Sharp today to present us with their Supplier Excellence Award. This award was in recognition of the outstanding service Sharp has provided to Cephalon over the last 10 years. As Cephalon begins the transition into Teva, they wanted to come to Sharp to sincerely thank us for the partnership that has been forged over the years. This award touches every department in both facilities and we should all be proud of the part that we have played in making this customer feel so special. There have been many meetings with Cephalon where they acknowledged the professionalism in which they have been treated throughout all of Sharp. It does not matter who they have spoken with, it was always a positive experience. - From Enda Scott (United Drug Managing Director – Packaging & Specialty) … I am delighted to announce that Jeff Benedict has been appointed Vice President of Global Business Development of the Packaging Division. In his this new role Jeff’s responsibilities will expand to include business development for the European Packaging Group in addition to his current responsibilities in Sharp Corporation. Jeff joined Sharp Corporation shortly after the acquisition by United Drug in August 2008. Since then, Jeff and his team have contributed enormously to the success achieved at Sharp. He has worked tirelessly to create a world class business development function driven by an absolute focus on our customer. Jeff, with the outstanding support of his colleagues in operations, quality, finance and project management, has contributed enormously to winning culture based on respect and responsibility to our customers and each other that exists in Sharp. I have no doubt that Jeff will add value to the management team in Europe and will help them repeat and perhaps surpass the success that has been achieved in Sharp.
- Paul Spaulding (Sharp IT Manager) Announces Hiring of Muhammed Jargboh-Sillah … “It’s my pleasure to announce that Muhammed Jargboh-Sillah has joined the IT department of Sharp Corporation as a Senior Applications Support Specialist. Muhammed will be providing support on existing Sharp/United Drug Corporate applications, such as Pilgrim SmartSolve, and will also be a key player in the implementation of future UD/Sharp initiatives, such as Microsoft CRM (Customer Relationship Management), SharePoint, Cognos and others, including future Pilgrim applications (SmartDoc and SmartTrain). Muhammed has spent the last five years as a Principal Application Technologist with Genzyme in the Boston area, and prior to that worked as Webmaster for Boston-area Advanced Technological Education Connections. He has a B.S. in Information Systems Management from the University of Massachusetts, and certification from the ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library).”
- From Rick Seibert (VP Project Mgmt. & New Business Development) Announces Promotion of Laura Rodriguez … “Please join me in congratulating Laura Rodriguez on her selection for the Project Management position recently posted. Laura has been working with Sharp since 2006. Laura started her career with Sharp in Quality Assurance as an inspector, then in Document Control and Compliance. Most recently, she has been a Senior Account Coordinator supporting team Luken. Laura has been diligently pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial / Organizational Psychology at Cedar Crest College, and will complete her degree in May of this year.”
- From Rick Seibert (VP Project Mgmt. & New Business Development) Announces Hiring of Gaurav Banerjee … ” As Kelli is anticipating an early April maternity leave, we are proactively training an experienced project manager to support Team Walker during Kelli’s leave. Gaurav Banerjee will be working alongside Kelli over the next few weeks as he becomes familiar with the Team Walker workload, so we can provide a seamless customer experience during Kelli’s maternity leave. Gaurav is an experienced Project Manager holding a BS in Commerce and Engineering from Drexel University as well as an MBA from Penn State University. - From Tonya Schmouder (Customer Service Manager) Announces Additions to the Account Coordinator / Inside Sales Group … Mary Shepherd joins the group as an Account Coordinator and will be working on accounts with Team Luken. Mary has been with Sharp since May of 2010 starting in the QA department as a Document Control Specialist and then moving into the Document and Training group. Mary has a BA in Journalism with concentrations in Public Relations and Business Administration from the Indiana University of PA.
- Nicole Muldrow joins the group as an Account Coordinator and along with Mary, will be working on accounts with Team Luken. Nicole joined Sharp in 2008 starting in the QA department as a Batch Record Reviewer. Nicole has a BS in Biology from Morgan State University.
- Michelle Sukanick joins the group as an Account Coordinator working with the Clinical Team. Michelle has an AS in Natural Science from Lehigh Carbon Community College, and comes with over 15 years of experience in the clinical and packaging fields including 15 years at Organon and previous experience as a packaging associate through National Packaging Systems.
